AZPE’s Professional Philosophy
AZPE is founded on the following beliefs:
Professional Excellence Teachers should act as professionals and should be treated as professionals.
Cooperation Students benefit most when parents, teachers, and administrators each fulfill their responsibilities in an environment of cooperation, communication, and mutual respect.
Personal Excellence As examples to their students, teachers should maintain the highest personal and professional standards.
Local Control Decisions affecting education should be made as close to the student as possible.
No decision should be made at the federal or state level that can better be made at the district level; and, no decision should be made at the district level that can best be made by the individual classroom teacher.
Right-To-Learn Students are entitled to an un-interrupted, quality education in a safe environment.
Freedom Of Choice Teachers should be free to join any professional organization or combination of organizations that they feel best meets their needs.
Right-To-Work Teachers should not be required to pay fees to a union or employee organization as a condition of employment.
