AZPE board selects new executive director

With 20 years of non-profit leadership experience, Scott Soldat-Valenzuela is ready to help AZPE grow and expand its services.

Earlier in his career, Scott served as the Executive Director of the SkillsUSA-Arizona association and has since also represented both the Peoria and Fountain Hills chambers of commerce as President/CEO. Most recently he spent over two years as the Executive Director of Kids at Heart–a non profit in Northern Colorado that provides respite services to foster families.

Scott's strengths in non-profit leadership and management are focused on board development, strategic planning and member value. He often comments, "When members experience true value for their dues investment, everything else will follow."

While serving as an Executive Director is not new to Scott, he admits there's much to learn about AZPE and he welcomes time to connect with teachers.

Scott and his husband, Jeffrey, have four children–Jacob (8), Carley (9), Tyler (21) and Victoria (26). After a 2 year stint in Colorado for Jeffrey's career, they are enjoying the warm weather in Arizona again.
